Plain English version. If anything here is unclear, email hello@techbud.net and we will explain it.
What we collect
When you ask us for help, we collect:
- Your name, email, and phone number if you give it
- Your town
- What you told us is wrong with your computer
When a technician applies to be listed, we collect the details on their application form and the result of their background check.
What we do with it
- We use it to find you a suitable pro and to introduce you to them. Your details go to the one pro you are matched with, never to a list of technicians who then all call you.
- If you go ahead with a job, we use it to take your payment and to talk to you about that job.
- We keep a record of jobs and any disagreements, because we need it if something is disputed later.
What we never do
- Sell your details to anybody, for any amount
- Pass your details to technicians you have not agreed to work with
- Add you to a marketing list because you asked for help once
- Run advertising trackers on this site
Payments
Card payments are handled by our payment processor. Techbud.Net never sees or stores your full card number.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or anything of that kind.
Getting your data, or getting rid of it
Email hello@techbud.net and ask. We will send you what we hold, or delete it, within 30 days. If a job is in progress or a payment is disputed, we may have to keep the records relating to that job. We will tell you if so, and why.
Changes
If we change any of this in a way that matters, we will say so on this page rather than quietly editing it.
